Due to Vilma's love for people, especially the elderly, and her spiritual background, Vilma set out to open a homecare service, a homecare service that would treat people like people and not like clients, but instead like family. Vilma retired from Nyack hospital in October 2007, and started her own non-medical homecare agency called "Preferred Homecare Plus Inc." located in Nyack NY.
